Motor Row Condominiums

Tishman Construction served as Construction Manager for this new seven-story, 94-unit condominium building in Chicago, which also includes 9,000 square feet of retail space, two restaurants and a three-story parking garage for 100 cars. The project site falls within an historic district called "Motor Row" on the city's Near South Side and was designated a Chicago Landmark in 2000. Due to its location, Motor Row Condos' exterior architecture required input from the Chicago Landmarks Commission. The façade includes stone accents and custom brickwork that pay homage to the surrounding structures.

Tishman Construction executed a value engineering program, which included recommending H-Pile foundations, post tensioning the structure, and facade and architectural design modifications -- resulting in over $1 million in savings. Tishman Construction negotiated and awarded 85% of the contract buyouts within five weeks in order to meet financing requirements under the extremely aggressive schedule.
