CityCenter

Tishman Construction served as Executive Construction Manager for CityCenter, overseeing the construction of the 18-million-square-foot mega-development situated on 67 acres in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. This is the largest commercial development constructed in the US. CityCenter is a joint venture between MGM MIRAGE and Infinity World Development Corp, a subsidiary of Dubai World.

The project scope included the 61-story, 4,004-room ARIA Resort & Casino, featuring a convention center, a Cirque de Soleil production celebrating the music of Elvis Presley, and a complement of dining and entertainment offerings. Other buildings include the 1,495 all-suite Vdara Hotel; Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas; The Harmon; the striking Veer Towers; and Crystals retail and entertainment district. CityCenter also has its own dedicated electrical substation and independent central plant, as well as over 12,000 parking spaces and an automated people mover system.

Tishman Construction assisted the CityCenter team by developing a procurement approach to leverage the buying power of the project that has resulted in significant savings through direct negotiations with domestic and international manufacturers of numerous building materials. The team created umbrella agreements that allowed local tradespeople to purchase materials directly from manufacturers around the globe at pre-approved, pre-negotiated, point-of-purchase prices, resulting in substantial savings to the Owner. This model has proven to be highly effective, especially in the areas of copper tube and stainless steel pipe, lighting fixtures, millwork, curtain wall, conduit, carpet, stone and tile, glass and doors.

CityCenter achieved six LEED® Gold certifications for the hotels, residences and retail district.
